Rice is nice

Rice or "padi" field along the highway in north Malaysia. Rice is not only staple food, but a spritual symbol in this region.

It is commonly associated with wealth (it turns bright gold during harvest) and humble wisdom (a heavy stalk of rice bends closer to the ground whereas a young empty stalk points proudly upwards).

Rice can be harvested up to three times a year, instead of just once before scientific modification.
