Nigerian Trail
During my recent trip to Nigeria with my brother and sister, I visited three diffrent states: Lagos, Ibadun and Ife Ife. Nigeria is a very busy helter skelter kind of place. But it is not a place to visit without any local knowledge of the place or culture. Some sort of guide or friend who lives there is definitely required for safety's sake.
On many occasions we encountered armed policemen with huge rifles patrolling the motorways. They are there to deter armed robbers but they regularly stop vehicles and demand money to supplement their low salaries, especially from public transport drivers who run their own transport businesses and are making money.
